Well, finally have some free time to spare today but not long...need to report back this afternoon.
The last 5 days have been crazy. Due to storms, heavy rain & flooding, My SES (State Emergency Service) unit has been on the go since Thursday night. I have been home each day only long enough to eat a meal & rest up for the next day. To alleviate any fears about My safety, I tell you all that I am not on the frontlines. My unit is the primary combat unit for operations in My city for storms & floods but My role is to operate radio communications in the HQ. Mostly I am receiving intelligence from the teams on the frontline & relaying orders & information back to those teams. I operate the radio links between field teams & the HQ. It's a vital link & that's what I do
The situation in My city (Wagga Wagga) is receiving news coverage nationwide. Basically, what is happening is that we recieved heavy prolonged rain last week that had swollen waterways locally & resulted in some minor flooding in the community. But what we are dealing with over the last few days has been the raising of the river level due to dams upriver having to release water to prevent more major mishaps. The dams are full. That means that any subsequent rainfall we get will probably result in more releases from the dams & a recurrence of the present flooding crises. Yesterday, 3 communities began to become isolated as the river rose. It is touch & go whether the levee banks will hold the river or not when it peaks today. If they hold, a fairly major flood will be averted. If they do not, those 3 communities will flood & any who elected to remain there will be at risk & will require rescue.
Most of the communities affected have been evacuated but some remained behind. Those will need rescue at some point & it will be My unit that effects those rescues.
So the crisis is by no means passed yet & if we get more forecasted rain this week, it may prolong things for another week.
I miss you all...I miss My girls, the RP, My Tala...I long to be back regularly with you all.
I love My Tala & My girls & will be on here whenever I can make it. Be assured, I will return to you all & those I own & love will remain Mine. I need you all.
Love & kisses,
Talon.
